Local SEO.Three places on the map, and nothing below.
For a local service the decision happens in Google Maps, in the top three. Fourth gets a tenth of the calls the first one gets, and fifth is effectively invisible.
What you get
What local SEO covers.
The map and the organic results are two separate contests with different rules. We work both, because clients come from each of them.
Google Business Profile
The single most important item. Most profiles are half filled in, and that is where the biggest opportunity sits.
- The right primary category and every secondary one
- Services, prices and descriptions
- Photos and regular posts
- Questions and answers
- A service area instead of an address where that fits
Local pages
One page per city or district you actually work in - with real content, not a copy.
- A page per city and per district
- Content that genuinely refers to that area
- Local schema markup
- Parking, transport, opening hours
- No page for anywhere you do not actually go
Citations and directories
The same name, address and phone everywhere. Inconsistency there quietly erodes trust in the profile.
- Auditing the citations you already have
- Correcting wrong details
- Listings in the directories that matter
- Removing duplicate profiles
- Watching for new appearances
Reviews
How many reviews you have and how recent they are affects both the ranking and whether anyone calls.
- A QR, SMS and email flow after the job
- A reply to every review
- A process for bad reviews
- Reviews that mention the service and the area
- Tracking the rating over time
How it runs
The first three months.
-
Week 1 - 2
Profile and details
Sorting the profile, the categories and the citations. Most of the movement usually comes from here.
-
Weeks 3 - 6
Local pages
A page per place, with content that genuinely refers to that area.
-
Weeks 6 - 10
Reviews
We put in a flow that asks for a review after every job by itself.
-
After
Upkeep
Profile posts, replies to reviews, and tracking the ranking district by district.
Who this is for
Who it works for, and who it does not.
It makes sense if:
- Your clients come from the city or the area you work in
- You have premises or you travel out to a defined area
- The phone is your main channel for enquiries
It does not make sense if:
- You sell nationwide with no tie to a location
- You have neither an address nor a service area - without one of those there is no map listing
- Your business is entirely online, with nobody coming in and nobody going out
Local SEO is the fastest branch of SEO. The first changes often show within four weeks, and sooner in smaller towns.
